 ZCCR Winter Party & 2010 Kick-off |
|
Sunday February 7th, 2010 Hours: 11AM - 4PM
Just because the Z cars are sleeping, doesn’t mean their owners should. Join with other ZCCR members and their families to ring in the new Z year at our annual Groundhog festivities. This year we return to the enclosed Lodge at Fellows Road Park in Fairport at 499 Fellows Road.
Warm-up at the roaring fire that will fill the lodge hearth wall to wall, and if you need even more heat on a brilliant winters day, enter your best Chili in our ZCCR people’s choice contest. Contributing your pot of that warm tomato based delicacy to share will get you a chance to win great prizes, and if yours is judged #1 you'll be going home with a gift-certificate from a local restaurant where your culinary needs can be further satisfied.
Hot and cold drinks will be supplied by ZCCR. Bring your favorite dish to pass. Great food, wonderful Z people, sharing of stories, will all help shorten the winter doldrums. Come out and join the Zelebration!!!!!
HOPE TO Z you there, Your ZCCR Board of Directors

Getting Active with ZCCR ! |
|
Here's the latest on YOUR club: * A contingent of eight cars from ZCCR traveled north to Toronto this past Saturday to participate in the Z FEST hosted by our wonderful friends of the Ontario Z Owners Association. Held at Nissan Canada's warehouse (we got a chance to check out the new 370Z roadster and GTR!), the event had all vintages and typed of Zs on display. As always a Z event has great people and we had a great time. BIG thanks to JP Matte, Terry Weston, Brian Gracie, Howie Yoshida and all the rest of the OZC crew for putting on a wonderful event. Oh yes! In the results from the car show, ZCCR did very well with awards going to Frank McGinley (1st place Z32 stock), Mike Yendreski (1st place 350Z modified), John Taddonio (1st place 350Z stock) and Mike Krenzer (2nd place 280Z stock). Check the ZCCR website gallery for pictures this week, in the meantime here's photo's from the OZC side of the border. * The latest edition of our club newsletter will be posted on the website this week. Sam Hartley is our new editor and he has done a GREAT job with the newsletter. It will be availble on the website for downloading to either print or view, IN FULL COLOR! * Please note all of the sponsor ads in the newsletter. These are the folks who support your club throughout the year and help to make all we do possible, including our big yearly weekend car show event. I encourage you to patronize them and thank them for their support of ZCCR. * We have MANY events still on the schedule this year! UP NEXT: We are participating in the Buffalo Octagon Association Annual Classic and Sports Car Show on Sunday September 6. This is a GREAT event in a very scenic venue! Below from their website: Each year the Buffalo Octagon Association puts on a classic car show and picnic. It is held every Labor day weekend. This years show will be located at Como Lake Park Casino. It is located at Como Lake Park in Lancaster New York. The date for this years event is SUNDAY September 6th, 2009. I call it an event, because it really is more than just another car show. In addition to some fabulous cars in over twenty classes, we have good food, games for both kids and adults, a split club raffle, Chinese auction, pinewood derby and trivia throughout the day. It is truly a family event. The field opens at 9:00 a.m. and no more cars are allowed on the show field after 12:00 noon, when the judging begins. Both pre-registration and registration the day of the show is available. Judging concludes at 2:30 p.m. and the awards are usually handed out by 4:00 p.m. Here is a link to the show info. We will be meeting for breakfast in Henrietta and then heading down the thruway to the show. Watch your emails the week before for complete details. * The date has been set for our Annual Holiday Banquet. This year we will be at Mickey Finn's in Victor, NY on Saturday December 12. We've reserved a special private-party room for our members, afterwards there's a great sports bar scene and on week-ends, they've always got scintilating live music to be enjoyed amongst friends and an active dance floor ... plan on wearing your rock n' roll rompin' shoes there may even be a re-dedicated trophy for the most active twilight-tripper ;-) Put it on your calendar to be at our year-end bash - we're going all out this year! And if you're to come some distance and want to squeeZZZe in all the evening's mo-jo with no-worries there are several fine hotels very nearby that you can book ahead with: Best Western Victor Inn & Suites Hotel, Holiday Inn Express Inn & Suites Rochester-Victor, Microtel Inn Victor & Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester/Victor (all within a half mile of Exit 45 nearby the restaurant), then there's the Mom & Pop America's Best Value Inn in Farmington between Exit 44 & the restaurant with a new Comfort Inn-Farmington across the street, so lots of options are available to you this far ahead...we hear whispers that the club is planning on partying through closing time then who knows, maybe breakfast at the diner like back in the good-old days! Could it be we're going back to the 70's just like our favorite cars?! If you haven't been to a ZCCR event, there is still opportunity to do so. Come on out and play! peaze, John Taddonio "zcarnut" 70,78,87,03 Z-Cars President, Z Car Club of Rochester NY

JUNE Member Meeting: Tuesday June 17 (NOTE NEW DATE & LOCATION!!)
We will be "on the road" to a new location: The Corner Sports Bar/Grapevine Restaurant, 122 Main St., East Rochester, NY.
We will have a private room to enjoy great, reasonably priced food n’ drink and the World of Classic Car Insurance will be explained to us by Chip Strowe, Personal Lines Manager for Brown & Brown Insurance of New York (Rochester). He'll cover what can be insured, carrier expectations for the insured, how value is determined, how different insurers assign values (some leave it to the owner, some demand a formal appraisal, some refer to book values, etc.), claims information & more, he'll also answer questions that will surely come up. Brown & Brown works with Hagerty and other insurers so there'll be more than one solution to a car owner's needs. They are also a full service provider that can serve other insurance needs so questions about homeowners, general auto, etc. can also be addressed if presented..
