Welcome!
The Z Car Club of Rochester's Annual MOTORFEST CAR & MOTORCYCLE Show Weekend is being developed once again! The dates are Friday July 12, Saturday July 13 and Sunday July 14, 2013.
It's grown to be a big regional event and a great time is certain for all!

This is once again a CHARITY EVENT, this year supporting BIVONA Child Advocacy Center.
Thanks for your interest in our event. Please help to spread the word far and wide to get as many Z and Import Car and Motorcycle fanatics as possible to join in on the fun! The event has grown over the past few years and we expect in excess of 300 vehicles on display. Everyone has a great time and we have been able to donate over $35,000 in the last decade to local charities.

 Hey all! Here is the latest from ZCCR:
* This Saturday May 4 is our first "Cars & Coffee" of the season. Gather starting 9am at the Crossroads Coffeehouse, 752 S. Goodman St, Rochester, NY 14620. Crossroads is located just behind the Cinema Theater at the intersection of S. Clinton Ave. and S. Goodman St., just off the Goodman St. exit of I-490. Grab a cup and a treat, talk cars and share time with your friends before getting on with your day. Plenty of free parking on the premisis.
* Also on Saturday, our friends at the Street Machines of Rochester are having their "Spring Dust Off" at the Mall at Greece Ridge Center. Located in the lot by Macy's up on Ridge Road, this is an informal spring cruise in to get our rides out and gather with car enthusiasts from around the area. This event runs in conjunction with the Street Machines Indoor Mall Show which showcases 50 of the best rides in the area INSIDE the Mall. The Mall show runs from Friday May 3 thru Sunday May 5. I'll be taking my 240Z to the Cruise-In around 1pm, hope some of you can join me.
* It's not too early to register for the Street Machines of Rochester's 39th Annual Outdoor Auto Show to be held on Sunday June 9 at Badgerow Park in Greece. Go here to pre-register: http://www.streetmachinesofrochester.com/outdoor%20show.htm . As most of you know, this is by far the biggest car show in the Rochester area, showcasing over 600 cars, trucks and bikes. ZCCR has had the biggest club turnout for the past few years, we need YOUR participation to keep the trend going.
* On Saturday June 1, we will be heading over to Wilson Performance for a "DYNO DAY". Rick Wilson and crew will strap your car onto their Dyno to test for HP and Torque. Ever wonder how much your car really makes, here's your chance. Discount rate for ZCCR members, lunch provided by the club.
* Weekly Cruise Night season usually kicks in around the end of May, but the word is that enthusiasts are already gathering at the classic Wednesday Night Log Cabin Cruise Night in Walworth. If the weather forecast holds true (sunny and in the 70s), I might just head out there this Wednesday myself. How about you?
* Last call for submissions for the next ZCCR Newsletter! If you have any classifieds, articles or news that you would like included, please submit ASAP to newsletter editor Sam Hartley.

WHERE: RIT Campus, Lots G/H off Lomb Memorial Drive on Jefferson Rd.

MEET: If you wish to arrive with the ZCCR group, meet at the Breugger's Bagels in Southtown Plaza (3333 W. Henrietta Rd.) at 11:30am. Otherwise, feel free to arrive at the show on your own.
It's the first show of the season! T weather is supposed to be sunshine and in the upper 60s, so dust off that Z and enjoy!

 Hey All! Here is the latest from ZCCR: TWO big events coming up this week! 4/15/13 Member Update - MEETING TOMORROW * Tomorrow night, Tuesday April 16 is our April Membership Meeting. We will be at Mulconry's Irish Pub & Restaurant, 17 Liftbridge Lane in Fairport NY( http://www.mulconrys.com/index.html ). Dinner at 6pm, meeting at 7pm. We will be welcoming guest speaker Rob Roessel from Watkins Glen International who will be sharing with us some new things that the Glen has to offer to car clubs and the events in store for the 2013 season. * As a pefect follow up, on Sunday April 21 we will be taking a ROAD TRIP down to Watkins Glen International to participate in Opening Weekend ( http://www.theglen.com/Tickets-Events/Events/2013/Opening-Weekend.aspx )! At the Glen we will join with other car clubs and car enthusiasts and take THREE laps on the historic track in our cars! It's NOT racing, you don't need a helmet, just a well operating car (especially the brakes!) for three fun laps. Cost is $25 per car. After the track, we will stop in Watkins Glen Village for lunch, then a stop at Starkey's Lookout ( www.starkeyslookout.com ) located just up the road from the Glen for some beer & wine tasting. Departure Details: MEET: "Official" departure will be at 9AM from the Park & Ride lot located on Rt. 96 at I-490 in Bushnell's Basin. (Many of us will be meeting beginning 8am at the Bruegger's Bagels on Rt.96 & Kreag Rd. for coffee and such before hitting the road. Please take note that our April membership meeting date has been CHANGED to TUESDAY APRIL 16, not the 17th as previously published.
We will still be meeting at Mulconry's Irish Pub on Liftbridge Lane in Fairport, dinner at 6pm, meeting at 7pm. We will be welcoming Rob Roessel from Watkins Glen International who will tell us some of the new ideas that WGI has to offer car clubs.

 Hey All!
ZCCR and our great sponsors make many events available to us throughout the year. Most of these events have costs that are underwritten by those sponsors and the club. Take advantage of your membership dues by taking part in these events.
That being said, in order to be responsible with costs, PLEASE let us know if you are coming so we can plan! In the next week we have TWO fabulous events that are FREE to members! Slot car racing, pizza, beverages, a tour of a world class resotration facility with unbelievable cars and Dinosaur BBQ for dinner! You can't beat that! So please RSVP to me by email ASAP so we can plan appropriately.

1). On Sunday March 24 we will be hosting the Second Annual ZCCR Slot Car Racing Championships at Fantasy Raceways, 3787 Dewey Ave (Greece) opposite North Gate Plaza. 1:30-3:30pm. Come on out for some racing action and refreshments to help end the winter doldrums. FREE to current ZCCR members.

2). Wednesday March 27 will be our first member meeting of the year. We are thrilled to be hosted by Horsepower Motorworks, ( http://www.horsepowermotorworks.com/ ). Come out to see this premier classic car restoration facility and their state of the art storage area, with some unbelieveable rides!

Shake off the "coldrums" of winter and come on out with your club to enjoy HOT Rochester Americans hockey at the Blue Cross Arena!
On Sunday, February 17 @ 3pm our Amerks take on their long time rivals the big bad Hershey Bears. ZCCR members and their families enjoy $18 center ice tickets for only $10 each! Your club is making this event possible at this GREAT price! Come early, stay late! Hockey then Dinosaur BBQ, Stickey Lips, Anchor Bar..........

* I'd like to also thank Mike Yendrzeski for his past service to the club as Activities Director. Mike has decided to step back from the day to day operation of the club but will still be working on helping with some club events. Mike brings a lot to the club with his knowledge and energy, thanks for all you have done and will do.
* Our 2013 Activities Calendar is attached, please print it out and make it available for your reference. Please note that specific details and revisions to events will be sent to you via email, so check your email regularly for correct information.
* ZCCR is making club merchandise available to our members beginning this spring! T-shirts, golf shirts, hats, fleeces, jackets and pretty much anything you could want with the club logo will be available. Watch for ordering information in your email OR pick them up at a club event.
* Our BIG event is again this July! "Import Motor Fest" will be July 12-14. You know the drill, three days of automotive fun capped off with the Jonathan Krenzer Memorial Import Motot Show. Once again our charity will be the Bivona Child Advocacy Center. Thanks to our membership and participants, ZCCR has been fortunate to be able to donate over $30,000 to local charities. WE NEED YOU! An event of this magnitude takes tons of volunteers to make it happen. Whether you have volunteered before or not, please step up and lend a hand. Contact any board member for more information.
* Sponsors! Our generous sponsors are what make our charity event run. Please approach any businesses, local or national, that you may be acquainted with to see if they would be interested in a ZCCR sponsorship. Details on becoming a ZCCR sponsor will be coming your way soon.
* Please make sure that you renew your memberships in a timely manner. It helps with our record keeping and ensures that you will be kept on the active member roster and get the latest information AND club disounts. Email any changes in your information (name/address/phone/EMAIL ADDRESS/ car information) to our membership director Frank McGinley.
* Our next newsletter publication date is April 1, so if you have any classified ads or information that you would like published, please send to our newsletter editor Sam Hartley.

 In our area this past week we lost two fire-fighters as a tragic consequence of the actions of a mad-man, a criminal, a cold blooded killer. Several more men were injured, if you've any interest follow this page on Facebook, the outpouring of support for the impacted fire-fighters and their families has been heart warming indeed! If you were thinking of joining us for the GREAT ZCCR HOLIDAY PARTY, please make your reservations NOW! Our host, the beautiful Canandaigua Inn on the Lake, needs a firm count of attendees, so we must set a DEADLINE for reservations of THIS FRIDAY NOVEMBER 30!!
On Saturday December 8, we will be at the fabulous Canandaigua Inn on the Lake to share some holiday cheer and celebrate another successful ZCCR year. Please join us for *****tails and hors d'oeuvres at 6:30pm, dinner at 7:30pm. Enjoy your first drink courtesy of your club (cash bar available all evening), then a full course three entree dinner buffet and desert. As part of the festivities, we will be presenting our "10 YEAR MEMBER" awards to those ZCCR members celebrating 10 consecutive years of membership. Also, our 2012 "MEMBER OF THE YEAR" will be announced!
* Pre-registered guests will be entered into a drawing for a free overnight package for the Inn on the Lake! To be eligible for this drawing, you MUST be registered for the event by the deadline of 11/30/12. Cost to members and their immediate family members is only $20 per person (majority of the cost underwritten by ZCCR for your enjoyment). Reservations for the Holiday Party are REQUIRED and must be made no later than NOVEMBER 30!
